Consult & Skincare Advice
Having your skin look its best for your wedding is important for every bride, but it's not just all about the makeup! Here are some of my tips to make sure your skin is prepped to perfection leading up to your big day
Facials would be an added bonus but don't make the mistake of using this as your only method of skin preparation
I am happy to advise a personalised skincare routine for you during our consultation and trial.
The Trial
A trial for the bride is a must! I advise we do this at least 2-3 months before the wedding date, as by this point you will probably know your colour theme and have an idea of what you would like for your look, if you haven't don't panic.. there is so much inspiration you can find online! Feel free to bring your ideas with you but please so remember that what looks great in a magazine shoot, might not be right for your wedding day
If you are struggling to know what's best for your bridal look, try and think to when your felt your most glamorous or when you know you received the most compliments about your look, also how do you think you look best in photographs, this is what I did for my own wedding, so questions to ask yourself, are:
Remember you need to feel comfortable and feel your best, that doest mean you must have a dramatic eye and strong lip just because it's your wedding day, you want to look the best version of YOU.
The Trial will be a relaxed and fun experience, I am happy to visit your home or a location of your choice. It can be helpful for you to come to the trial with your usual make up on so i have an idea of what your comfortable with.
The Wedding Day
This is such an exciting time for you and I will be there to ensure you feel as relaxed and as calm as possible. I will arrive early to your venue or home to set up my kit, and will be with you right up until you no longer need me; generally, this is when the bride is getting into her dress.
I would advise that you have a plan in the morning, whether you have a typed itinerary or a rough idea we just want to make sure you have plenty of time, the last thing you want is a mad stressful rush before you walk down the isle. I will be there so we have more than enough time to prepare you and your bridal party.
Make sure there is enough daylight, while you're having your makeup done, this is the best way you can check how your makeup looks outside in the true light.
If you wake up with a last minute pimple or blemish, don't panic! I will make sure you still feel beautiful even if that means changing to a stronger lip colour to draw attention away from that inconvenient blemish!
Remember to have fun on your wedding morning, create a mood, put some music on, have some nibbles and champers on the go, it makes people more relaxed and you have a morning to remember.
Please do remember, I am there to do a job and time is precious in the morning, I know brides can be busy but use your maid of honour/bridesmaids to do tasks, we want to spend the full hour making your look perfect, not having you getting up every few minutes to sort out another problem… Make the most of it, it's your day, you're allowed to be selfish!
